Band: Concert Reflection March 2015

What is expected of me as a performer:

  1. What do I need to do leading up to the performance in terms of my own practicing?
I need to make sure that my mouth has a smaller aperture.

2. What is my responsibility on stage during a performance?
I need to make sure that I'm not talking to my friends and alway's trying my best.

3.What will I do differently in preparing for the next concert?
I should change 10 minutes before the concert starts. Also I should practice more.

What is expected of me as an audience member:

  1. What do I need to be doing while someone is performing?
I need to keep quite and make sure we're all quite.

2.What do I need to do after someone has performed?
By showing them that we're proud of their hard work, we need to clap afterwards.
3. What should I do if people around me are not being good audience members?
I should quietly tap on the person's shoulder and let them know that you shouldn't talk during the concert.

4 .What will I do differently as an audience member for next concert?
Even though I do have to move around every once a while, I can still do it quietly.
I am most proud of...

One thing that I'm most proud of is the fact that I got to play my first concert music piece!

Water project - Week 1

The Water project - Week 1

Thursday:
As we were starting to suspect if we should start working on the water project, we first planned week one as a 'poster-making.' Many asked if we had started the water project yet, the answer to the question is 'I don't know.' Apparently, many of you guys were expecting to be a yes and we were also starting to freak out when we realized it was Thursday already! So we got ready with our computers and planning sheets and started to get some work done. The plan was that Michelle would be doing the bake sale poster and I would be doing the poster that tells others what the Water Project is and how we can help with this cause. So here's Thursdays poster:

Friday:
On Friday morning, Michelle told me she was already done with her poster. I was starting to freak out because you can tell I still had a lot of work to do. I was also starting to get worried because next week is all about baking the cupcakes for the school and I thought about what would happen if I don't get this done by the end of the week. I started working on it for a really long period of time and so I first started with maybe adding a little introduction:

Saturday:
Finally, it was Saturday. Only one more day till it's due. I thought as I woke up. So I quickly went into the bathroom, washed my face, brush my teeth, and started working on the poster again. Over the past few hours, I tend to get up, stretch for a while, eat something, and maybe watch my brother play his wii. The first poster that I made was like this:

After lunch, my partner, Michelle Chen, thought it wasn't really eye-catchy because it had too many words. So I tried moving the text boxes around, thinking of another way to fit all these words. Although afterwards, Michelle told me it just had too much information and we can probably cut some out. So just like the morning, I tend to get up and stretch for a while, eat something, and maybe watch my brother play his wii. But finally, we came up with a poster that would fit perfectly and attractive:

Ratings:
On a scale from 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, I think I'll give myself either a 7/8 because I could have started earlier. In other words, maybe being more organized and keeping up with what you've planned before.

One thing I liked about this:

I really liked how I would make mistakes because then I get to learn and solve my way through this project with having to be dependent on others.

One thing I could do differently:

Next time, I could maybe add more information and a little more about the water project. For example, I can explain why we're doing this project, what is this for, etc.

One thing I learned from this project:
You shouldn't procrastinate and always be committed to your plan.
Never be afraid of your mistakes, just learn from them
 ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.
