Tubifex worms are normally found in groups and can be found in lakes and rivers. Many people say they cause many bacterial diseases because of the habitat that they live in. Also, lots of people also say they can survive in the sewage, sludge, etc. and that's why they're also known as sewage worms and/or sludge worms. In this world, there is about 12 species of tubifex worms. One of the most well-known kinds are called 'Tubifex tubifex' and can reach around 20 cetimeters!!
As you can see them under a microscope, the tubifex worms are kind of red because they have something called a haemoglobin. A haemoglobin is a part of the body that allows them to live in different places. (Like the sewage, mud, sludge, etc.)
